Opening Prayer prepared by Liz Escamilla and read out loud by all members.

The council reflected on the Life and ministry of John Paul II. His ministry touched the entire world.

ACTION
Old business:
Parish Pastoral Council Special meeting on the building Fund request to sell the church property-How do we notify Building Fund Committee
A brief discussion held on the outcome of the special Parish Pastoral Council meeting on the church property and then the discussion was held on how to present to the Building Fund Committee.
Council voted to set up as:
Joint meeting with the entire Parish Pastoral Council with the Building Fund Committee but could not decide if just a few members of the Building Fund Committee should be present-Julian to finalize and set up the meeting
Review of the 7 ministries and discuss the two open positions for Needs Assessment and Youth Ministry.
a. Discuss the next steps for these ministries.
Discussed some changes to the Spanish Pastoral Liturgical and the Leadership Formation ministries-
Maria Sepulveda has relinquished her position and is replaced by Paulina Maffia. Ramon Corra has replaced Paulina Maffia in Leadership Formation. Ramon originally signed up but was left off the list.
The English Pastoral ministry for Needs Assessment and Youth Ministries still are open. Some discussion on individuals who might fill these vacancies. No individuals were identified but it raised a question of how do we get our fellow parishioners more involved?
The Council discussed setting up a joint meeting with all ministries to begin our process of establishing the structure of the ministries and how they will function. This was left on the table to be further discussed with Father Bernardino after he returns.

Discussed the upcoming calendar of events-Janice
a. 80th Anniversary of St Anthony Church celebration June 18th & 19th
b. Father Bernardino’s 40th Anniversary-June 18th
c. Knights of Columbus anniversary-June 18th
d. St Anthony’s Feast Day June 12th
e. Confirmation-June 12th
Video Project Development-Deacon Alan Layden-Proposal by Alan to have a video made as testimony for the Building Fund raiser –the council suggested that Alan discuss with Jorge Martel who has a video production unit. Judi Faria suggested to discuss with Freedom High video production class
Update on Church Stained Glass Windows-Next windows to be installed in the next couple of weeks.
Open discussion:
A special thanks and prayers to Father Sean for all his support and presence during Father Bernardino’s absence. Parish council thought a card would be appropriate, however Father Sean was leaving for Ireland before we could get it done. Julian spoke to Father and passed along the sentiments of the council.
Tony Amador discussed a recommendation to have an insert in Spanish for the bulletin. The council agreed to bring up at the next meeting.
